Welcome to the Fischer group internal site! We can treat this group like a wiki page. This is a good place to document things that need to be shared with the group (instrument checksheets, field campaign logistics, how to run the latest version of GEOS-Chem, etc. The basic idea is to use this website as an alternative knowledge base (not email). This post will have some images with some how to tips.

How to make a post

menu

This is what you should be looking at once you log in. See that button on the left side that says “post”. Thats the first place to start. Ok now you know how to get to a post page. This next image will be a bit meta but it should look something like this.

postPage

Ok some information that may actually be helpful. Some of the material we post on this website needs to be password protected. Here is how we password protect posts. When you are in the post screen there will be a box in the upper right that looks like this. Click on the blue edit button right of the creepy visibility eye.

postOptions

Select the password protected option. You can then enter the super secret Fischer password and keep our million dollar ideas safe! Hooray! By the way, private will make it so only you (when logged in) can see the post, and public will make it so anyone on the internet (including google) can see it.

One more thing, lets try to keep these posts organized. We can do this by making sure new content goes into a category with similar content. These is a category button on the right of the post page that looks like this

categories

Click the most appropriate box and we can avoid a billion posts in un-categorized. If you need to make a new category do it!
